Oilers went into the break at 20-33-7, ahead of only Buffalo (by 9 points, Buffalo has 3 games in hand).

Bottom of the league currently looks like:

NAS: 59 GP, 60 Pts
NYI: 60 GP, 52 Pts
CAL: 58 GP, 51 Pts
FLA: 58 GP, 51 Pts
EDM: 60 GP, 47 Pts
BUF: 57 GP, 38 Pts

Included Nashville just to show where the major drop off is in the standings.

22-25 games left for these teams, how will the bottom 5 look by the end of the year? Can any of these bottom tier teams put on a run to possibly catch the next group (Nas/NJ/Car/Win/Van/Was/Ott/Cbs/Det/Pho/Dal are all between 60 and 64 pts)?

My guess is that the Oilers go 6-13-3 the rest of the way, finishing with 62 points, finishing ahead of Buffalo and Calgary in the final standings. Then to piss off Flames fans, we win the lottery yet again.

Looks like the Hemsky showcase is on as he's playing LW with Gagner/Eberle while Perron gets to provide the offence on a line with Hendricks and Gordon.

Guys I hope will be dealt by the deadline: N. Schultz, Ference, Smyth, Belov, Potter

Guys who will likely actually be dealt: Hemsky, Jones, N. Schultz.

Dealt at the draft: Gagner (wishful thinking), instead, probably Yakupov or Eberle.

As for individual leaders, it's going to be hard for Eberle (45pts), Hopkins (43), or Perron (42) to catch Hall (56) up front though there is a tighter race for goals where Perron (22) is in the lead with Hall (20) and Hopkins (19) close behind. Would be nice if we could get a 30 goal scorer before the season is done.

J. Schultz leads the D in points (24) and goals (Cool with Petry (4 G, 13 Pts) second in both categories.

+/- leader is Martin Marincin (+4) with Ryan Jones (+2) and Ben Eager (+1) the only other players to the good side. Hendricks is sporting a tidy 0 so far while the next best regular is Mark Arcobello and David Perron at -7. Everybody else is double digits to the negative.

Here's hoping for a fun last 1/4 of the season and some entertaining games.
